Dr.
Joffe and Dr. Saini are Certified Invisalign
Providers
Consider Invisalign to
get the beautiful straight teeth you've always wanted
without braces.
A
consultation can determine if Invisalign is
right for you. The consultation appointment usually
take around 30 minutes. We will primarily focus on
your suitability for Invisalign treatment but will
discuss all other options with you.
Should you wish
want to find out if you are suitable for Invisalign
without the cost of a full consultation, then we
provide a screening service, which uses digital
photographs of your face and teeth. This service
allows Dr. Joffe or Dr. Saini to look at your specific
problem and assess your suitability for Invisalign.
We will call you back a day or so later and give
you an opinion and a “ball-park” cost.
We encourage
you to call us to schedule an appointment
or to discuss the details and cost of consultation
and treatment.
Either way, we will try and determine if Invisalign
is right for you.
Frequently Asked Questions About
Invisalign
What is Invisalign?
Invisalign uses a series of invisible,
removable, and comfortable aligners that no one can
tell you're wearing. So you can smile more during treatment
as well as after. Invisalign is made
with 3-D computer imaging technology, and has been proven
effective.
Why would I want it?
Not only are the aligners invisible, they are removable,
so you can eat and drink what you want while in treatment,
plus brushing and flossing are no problem. They are
also comfortable, with no metal to cause mouth abrasions
during treatment. And no metal and wires usually means
you spend less time in your doctor's office getting
adjustments. Invisalign also allows
you to view your own virtual treatment plan when you
start, so you can see how your straight teeth will look
when your treatment is complete.
How does it work?
You wear each set of aligners for about 2 weeks, removing
them only to eat, drink, brush, and floss. As you replace
each aligner with the next in the series, your teeth
will move - little by little, week by week - until they
have straightened to the final position the orthodontist
has prescribed. Your visits will be about once every
4-6 weeks to ensure that your treatment is progressing
as planned. Total treatment time averages 9-15 months
and the average number of aligners worn during treatment
is between 18 and 30, but both will vary from case to
case.
Are there restrictions on what I can
eat while in treatment?
No! Unlike traditional wires and brackets, you may
eat whatever you like while in treatment! It is important
to brush your teeth and aligners after eating prior
to re-inserting to maintain proper hygiene.
Will wearing aligners affect my speech?
Like any type of orthodontic treatment, there is a
short adjustment period. The more you talk – the
quicker you’ll adjust!
Is there much discomfort with Invisalign
treatment?
Typically described as pressure, minor discomfort
for a day or two is experienced at the initial insertion
of each new stage. This is a sign that Invisalign is
working – sequentially moving teeth to their final
destination.
Will cigarette smoking stain the
aligners?
What a great time to kick the habit! We discourage
smoking with aligners because it is possible for them
to become discoloured.
What’s the best way to clean
aligners?
Brushing them with a gentle toothpaste and lukewarm
water will keep them clean and fresh.
